About The Artist

My photo

Hello! I am a fine arts painter, with a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My primary painting medium is oil and alkyd, and mostly I work in a representational style. My greatest challenge as a painter is to capture the effect of light; and my greatest joy as a painter is to accomplish that. Many thanks to those readers who have been following this blog since Day 1 (May 19, 2008). To those who are visiting for the first time today...Welcome, and thanks for dropping by!

Sneak Peek #3...

Original by Carol L Adamec: "Cinnabar Garden", 2017. Mixed media on rice paper, 14"x11"
SOLD
The artwork I'm creating for my exhibit "In a Japanese Garden" consists of elements that would be found in a Japanese garden. Rather than painting various scenes or specific views, I am creating images of flowers and flora to interpret the "nature" of a garden, with kimonos to represent the human presence in the garden.

Like the image in today's post—"Cinnabar Garden"—the artworks are intended to delight viewers with the color, line, and texture of Nature's organic forms. So rather than being presented depictions of garden elements, viewers will hopefully experience the ambience of a Japanese Garden, feeling as though they are in that environment, as they wander through the exhibit.
