About The Artist

My photo
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States
Hello! I am a fine arts painter, with a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My primary painting medium is oil and alkyd, and mostly I work in a representational style. My greatest challenge as a painter is to capture the effect of light; and my greatest joy as a painter is to accomplish that. Many thanks to those readers who have been following this blog since Day 1 (May 19, 2008). To those who are visiting for the first time today...Welcome, and thanks for dropping by!

It's been awhile....

SOLD: "Winter Ice", acrylic, mixed media on canvas, 6x6, 2018.
It's been quite awhile since I've posted on this blog. I moved last year, and part of that effort has been establishing my studio at my new location. I have a new larger work space with wonderful natural light, and a great view of the Sandia Mountains, too!

Now that I have my new studio established, I will no long be working at the Harwood Art Center. Last Friday was my final Harwood open studio event. It was bittersweet, since I've been a "Harwood Artist" on and off since moving to New Mexico over two decades ago.

Although I'll be gone, I'm sure there'll be a new artist working in there within a month, who will be just as thrilled as I was to have a creative space and environment to grow and thrive.

Good wishes to that Artist, and many thanks to the Staff and Harwood Artists I've gotten to know over the years—especially Sue Pine who has been my studio mate since last May. Happy painting to you too, Sue, in your new space!
